Marriage Workshop

Dates:   October 25-27, 2002

An Opportunity For Couples To Further Their Pursuit Of God’s Purpose For Their Marriage!

Our purpose:   Believing that the foundation of all strong relationships is mutual valuing..... we provide a unique opportunity for couples to build, strengthen, or rebuild their marriages on principles of living out a valuing relationship.

Frankly, we are concerned that in the church of our Lord there are so many painful marriages, split ups and divorces on every hand. What is wrong with us?

We, as a couple married almost 40 years, have had our rough times, including divorce in our own personal history, but we are convinced there are remedies. There are many great books available, and wonderful skilled counselors.

What we offer is a little different. We are not providing a lot of data. We are primarily exploring together the roots of relationship, and ways to value our spouse. Valuing the other in a way that they "get it" is missing for many these days.

HOW..........

          The weekend flows out of a common allegiance to Jesus.
          We keep the group small to encourage informality and participation.
          We see how our individual differences can work toward a more complete marriage unit.
          We look closely at how being faithful to our word is critical to every healthy relationship.
          We discover the "currency" of our personal intimacy needs.
          We work on discovering our personal God-given missions.
          We explore the essence of what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

THE SCHEDULE (Full attendance is necessary):

      Five sessions as follows:
          Friday evening - 8:00 PM
          Saturday morning - 9:00 AM
          Saturday afternoon - 1:30 PM
          Saturday evening - 7:00 PM
          Sunday morning - 9:00 AM


COST:
$75 per couple (includes 3 meals)
If you plan to stay overnight at Antioch Ranch, you will need to contact us for lodging fees.

Men's Workshop

NEW FOR 2002

• My primary focus in serving Jesus is to help men discover and live out their God-given calling, believing that everyone has a particular job to do in His kingdom.

• In 2002 I am not scheduling a "general" men’s workshop. The shift is to invite groups of men from a particular church, Promise Keeper cell, or other men’s fellowship to come up as a group. The experience in our own church in Mendocino, and the workshops in Germany point out some advantages of doing it this way.

• SO, if you are part of a small group of men who are interested in what I feel is a critical subject, call me and we can check out possible dates and prices. Or, be a point man in your church to round up some guys who are interested. (Check with the pastor!)
